Fail to Succeed!

Michael Jordan on Success
There are lots of clichés on the topic of trying and failing - usually used in the more macho corners of the sports and fitness world:
  • "no pain, no gain";
  • "if it's not hurting, then it's not working";
  • "if you're not failing, you're not trying".

Then, there are the more supportive ones like:
  • "If you don't try, then you'll never know";
  • "You've got to speculate to accumulate";
  • "Who dares, wins!"

For me, it's simple - you can't achieve success without achieving a few big things and you can't achieve a few big things without getting out of your comfort zone.

Once you're out of your comfort zone, you're guaranteed a mis-step or failure somewhere along the way. Once you make peace with this, you free yourself up to LEARN from your mistakes, difficulties and -yes, sometimes - failures. So, that's why I propose a new maxim:
  • "Learn to fail, or you'll fail to learn"
